So, they partnered with The Catalina Island Company to build a larger
restaurant where the PREGO formerly stood. This family restaurant was
constructed to increase seating over the former Pancake Cottage’s size.
Excellent service is their main goal. The food is served fresh and undeniably
delicious! Muriel and Lou, along with their loyal and dedicated staff, have
worked very hard to make their restaurant a pleasurable dining experience.
Visitors and vacationers of Catalina Island have enjoyed this World Famous
Restaurant and have been continued to return year after year, while the locals
consider it a dining must!
The beautiful Custom Glass Designs of Carved Glass and Cast Glass in the
interior of the 3,000 ft. new restaurant were designed and made by Art Johnson
of Redondo Beach. Works of Art Johnson, Inc. has installed many beautiful
custom glass creations for Avalon locals. Art has been the proud recipient of
Catalina Festival of Art’s highest award; receiving Two FIRST PLACE Awards for
his beautiful glass work exhibited in 2004 & 2006.
Art and his wife, Lori, are close friends of Muriel and Lou. It was their pleasure
and honor to install these Works of Art.
We know your visit with us will be a memorable one. We look forward to seeing
you and yours in generations to come.
Thank you for joining us today and enjoy your stay in PARADISE.

In January 1, 1984, Muriel Willhite purchased The
Pancake Cottage and made it THE most successful,
popular BREAKFAST and LUNCH venue on Catalina
Island.
After Muriel and Lou were married in 1989, their
dedication and contribution to Catalina Island's
economy was enormous. Popular as their restaurant is
